When automotive design began, plasticine models represented an adequate means of visualizing a draft and were also used as a basis for creating transparent hard models.

HOTE quickly developed a method for molding plasticine without destroying the valuable outer skin of the material. Plasticine models soon left the company unscathed and could be returned to the customer for further processing in just a few days' time. Now, with over 25 years of experience in designing models, HOTE Studio für Produktdesign can look back on a rich history with many moments to remember. Updates to existing designs have frequently been taken into account at the studios in Beilngries. A good example of this is the Audi Quattro, a design model of which was constructed in the early 1980s in Beilngries. Some 10 years later, the focus had shifted to providing support for the Skoda design team and collaborating on many projects for key customers AUDI and Volkswagen.

The list of examples is long. Other highlights include cars such as the VW Golf (generations III, IV, and V), the Porsche 993/996 and Porsche Boxster, the Audi RS models, the VW Pheaton and the Touareg, as well as many innovative designs from other manufacturers.

The number of classic molds made from plasticine continues to dwindle. The same trend is also observed at HOTE studios, where milled full-scale (1:1) models are now in demand. New precision tools have made it possible to transform many data reference models and show car concepts into reality.

It goes without saying that, over the years, business and pleasure have mixed to an extent and given rise to countless friendships. The casual, friendly relationship we have with our customers also complements the concept of quality craftsmanship.
